Colon Theater
About
The Teatro Colón, a cultural icon of Colombia, joins the National Center for the Arts with three new rooms. Built between 1885 and 1895 by Pietro Cantini, it stands out for its neoclassical architecture and distinctive style. In 1975 it was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation. The main room has 773 chairs distributed on four levels: stalls, first, second and third level boxes, and gallery. Its features include a fresco of the muses on the ceiling, the Ramelli lamp and a curtain painted by Annibale Gatti in 1890. It offers ideal acoustics for enjoying performances of the performing arts and music.
