The 4th Lechona Festival is here. From June 28 to 30, 2025, the locality of Rafael Uribe Uribe becomes Bogotá’s gastronomic epicenter as it hosts the fourth edition of the Lechona Festival—an event that pays tribute to one of Colombia’s most iconic traditional dishes, recently recognized by TasteAtlas as the best pork dish in the world. For three days, more than 100 lechonerías (lechona establishments) will gather in the traditional Zona L to serve their traditional and creative recipes. Besides the classic tolimense-style lechona, visitors will enjoy creative preparations like empanadas, tacos, burgers, mazorcadas, picadas, and many other inventive dishes— all featuring lechona as the star ingredient.
But this festival is not just about food, it’s a full cultural experience. Attendees will enjoy live music, folkloric performances, artistic showcases, and family-friendly activities. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the culinary traditions of regions like Tolima and Huila, pioneers in the art of making this beloved dish, and to spend a weekend full of flavor, culture, and community.
How to get there?
- By private vehicle: To get to Zona L by car, take Avenida Caracas heading south. Continue until you reach Calle 27 Sur. Zona L is located between Calles 27 and 28C Sur, and between Avenida Caracas and Carrera 12H. If you're coming via Calle 28 Sur, head west from Avenida Caracas to Carrera 19. Be sure to look for nearby parking options, as parking restrictions may be in place during the festival..
- By TransMilenio: Take any route that connects to the Olaya station on the Caracas trunk line. After exiting the station, walk south along Avenida Caracas to Calle 27 Sur. Zona L is located between Calles 27 and 28C Sur, and between Avenida Caracas and Carrera 12H.
- By SITP: Take an SITP route that runs along Avenida Caracas and get off near Calle 27 Sur. You can also take a route that stops near Carrera 12H or Carrera 19 and walk towards Avenida Caracas. Zona L is located between Calles 27 and 28C Sur, and between Avenida Caracas and Carrera 12H. Check SITP routes and schedules in advance to better plan your trip and avoid delays.
