One of Bogotá’s favorite events among locals and tourists is back: the Lechona Festival. The emblematic Zona L, located in the south of the city, will host this traditional and delicious event, where food lovers can enjoy what has been recognized by the prestigious TasteAtlas ranking as the best pork dish in the world.

Taking place from June 28 to 30, the festival is the perfect occasion to celebrate Bogotá’s own San Pedro festivities, highlighting the flavor, knowledge, memory, and traditions of regions such as Tolima and Huila, pioneers in making this iconic and beloved dish.

"Lechona is not only an emblematic dish — it has been recognized by TasteAtlas as the best pork dish in the world, which reaffirms, it's a living expression of our cultural identity. Events like the Lechona Festival prove that popular cuisine also drives tourism, boosts the local economy, and positions Bogotá as a destination where flavor is part of the experience,” said Andrés Santamaría, Director of Bogotá’s Tourism Office.

The gastronomic event will take place in traditional locations throughout the Rafael Uribe Uribe district: Avenida Caracas, between Calles 27 and 28C Sur; Calle 27 Sur, between Avenida Caracas and Carrera 12H; and Calle 28 Sur, between Carrera 19 and Avenida Caracas.

Nearly 100 establishments will participate in this year’s edition, offering the best versions of this traditional dish from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors will enjoy both authentic and creative recipes, including burgers, empanadas, mazorcadas, picadas, tacos, and even cones — all made with lechona as the star ingredient. The experience will also feature cultural programming, live performances, folkloric showcases, and a family-friendly atmosphere designed for all generations to enjoy.

This event is proudly supported by the Lechoneros Association of Zona L, a trade group that brings together local vendors who, for over four decades, have helped turn the district into a renowned gastronomic destination for its tradition and flavor. The festival not only strengthens the local economy but also gives visibility to Colombia’s culinary heritage

Now in its fourth edition, the festival is also led by the Local Mayor’s Office of Rafael Uribe Uribe, with the support of Bogotá’s Secretary of Government, the Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports — which joins this gastronomic celebration for the second consecutive year — and the District Institute of Tourism
