Vernos de cerca
Under the theme Vernos de Cerca (Seeing Each Other Up Close), the thirteenth edition of the Gabo Festival invites us to look with curiosity at the realities that surround us, to listen to the voices that inspire us, and to dive into experiences that broaden our perspective. Guests will reflect on challenges facing the world and our region, such as violence, migration, the climate crisis, misinformation, and the rise of forces that threaten our democracy. Conversations, workshops, masterclasses, and other activities will take place at Gimnasio Moderno School, the District Network of Public Libraries (BibloRed), and the Chapinero Happiness Center (CEFE). The festival will coincide with the most extensive, complete, and revealing exhibition of Gabriel García Márquez’s archives, held by the prestigious Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas. Presented for the first time in Colombia, the exhibition spans the entire literary genius’s career and will be open to the public from April 23 to August 2 at the National Library.
