Bogotá sets the rhythm for 2026: the Festivales al Parque return with a vibrant, diverse lineup
As one of the city's most solid and beloved cultural initiatives, this season begins in May at Bolívar Square with Joropo al Parque and extends through November with Salsa al Parque at Simón Bolívar Park. This lineup solidifies a calendar that celebrates the capital’s sound diversity. At the heart of this agenda lies a historic milestone: the 30th anniversary of Rock al Parque, taking place in October as one of the city’s most iconic events.

Music as Cultural Platform
Beyond the concerts, the Festivales al Parque serves as a comprehensive cultural platform connecting artists, audiences, and communities. Each edition features a curated selection that dialogues with the roots, transformations, and multiple musical identities that inhabit Bogotá. These gatherings not only promote artistic circulation but also strengthen access to culture as a fundamental right, transforming public spaces into stages for encounters, learning, and collective expression.
The programming begins with Joropo al Parque (May 9 and 10) at Bolívar Square. In its fifth edition, the festival will focus on the oral traditions of the Eastern Plains (Llanos), where the contrapunteo (musical duels) becomes a living experience that blends music, poetry, and memory. Two weeks later, it’s time for the Colombia al Parque (May 24 and 25) at Parque de los Novios (Lovers’ Park). This year, the event will highlight the role of women as guardians of ancestral knowledge through songs that connect the intimate with the collective. On June 6 and 7, Popular al Parque will take over Simón Bolívar Park to showcase the relevance of regional music within contemporary urban life.

Bogotá, the music capital of the world
The second half of the year will maintain its musical momentum with Vallenato al Parque (July 31), celebrating the city's embrace of this genre. It is followed by Jazz al Parque (September 12 and 13) at El Country Park, where Latin American sounds will dialogue with jazz in a family-friendly atmosphere. October takes center stage with the historic 30th anniversary of Rock al Parque (October 10, 11, and 12) at Simón Bolívar Park, and Hip Hop al Parque (October 24 and 25), which reclaims the neighborhood and the city as epicenters of cultural creation. Finally, the season concludes with the 27th edition of Salsa al Parque (November 28 and 29) at Simón Bolívar Park, a celebration that reaffirms salsa's enduring status as one of Bogotá's most vibrant and representative rhythms.
Throughout these six months, the city will transform into a vast open-air stage where tradition, innovation, and diversity converge. The Festivales al Parque not only mark the cultural calendar; it reaffirms Bogotá as a creative and inclusive capital, deeply connected to music as a universal language.
