LGBTI Museum of Colombia
Carrera 13a # 38-60
Cómo llegarThe LGBTI Museum of Colombia is a unique space in Bogotá and South America that has transformed a former gay sauna into a museum dedicated to the history and struggle of the sectors that make up this community. In its 14 rooms, you can immerse yourself in the history of figures who have left their mark by fighting for their rights in different parts of the world. It also pays tribute to the iconic Stonewall Inn—the New York bar where, more than half a century ago, the uprising that gave rise to the Pride March broke out.
The museum showcases works of art, photographs, literary pieces, and valuable documents from Asia, Europe, and Latin America, the result of three years of exhaustive research by the museum’s team. It also features more recent creations by talented Colombian artists.
In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the museum offers talks, workshops, and cultural events that encourage dialogue and reflection on gender identity, sexual orientation, and equality. It is a place full of empathy and respect.
