Usaquén Square

The Usaquén Foundational Square is a historical treasure in Bogotá, with roots dating back to the 16th century during the time of Spanish colonization. It was established as an indigenous settlement in 1539. Over the centuries, this emblematic square has witnessed the evolution of Usaquén, preserving its role as the community’s social, political, and religious center. In its early days, the square was the heart of urban life, hosting markets, festivals, and important events for its residents.

Over time, it became an icon of Usaquén's identity and history, reflecting its transformation from a colonial town into a vibrant district of Bogotá. Today, it is a neighborhood with a lively cultural, gastronomic, and bohemian atmosphere, while still preserving its colonial architecture. Don’t miss the iconic Flea Market (Mercado de las Pulgas), held every Sunday, where you can find everything from antiques to designer pieces and cultural activities.

Its diverse gastronomic scene makes it a must-visit destination for food lovers. The area is home to a variety of restaurants and gastropubs that pay tribute to Colombia’s culinary heritage as well as to international influences.
