Until April 5, Colombia's capital will be home to a unique event that celebrates the power, risk, and poetry of the performing arts in their most vivid expression: the Bogotá 2026 International Festival of Living Arts (FIAV).

The city and art: a long-standing relationship

Bogotá has always breathed culture. Theaters, social gatherings, performances in public squares, and artist meetings have been part of its DNA for decades. But this event takes that history one step further: it's not just about watching shows, but living them, feeling them, and being part of a global dialogue between creators and spectators.

Inspired by major international theater and performing arts events, FIAV was created with the purpose of reconnecting the city with its theatrical and performing arts history, while opening its doors to contemporary proposals from around the world.

With over a hundred works and diverse voices from around the world, the second edition of FIAV Bogotá 2026 promises to be an experience without borders: 27 international shows from companies across all five continents. 32 national proposals featuring voices from different regions of Colombia, and 43 local works, many of them selected through a public call for entries.

This programming is a mosaic of textual theater, contemporary dance, performance, circus, puppetry, gestural theater, and oral narration: an invitation for every spectator—from the curious to avid lovers of the performing arts—to find a moment that moves them

A program that sparks the imagination

There are performances for every taste and sensibility. Some highlights from the program include:

  • ‘Suite Akhunov’ by El Colegio del CuerpoA work that blends music, dance, and visual arts in dialogue with the compositions of Sergey Akhunov.

  • ‘Geografías líquidas’ by Sankofa Danzafro. It explores the body in relation to water currents and  Afro-cultural memory.

  • ‘Un manifiesto’ by Cuerpos que GritanA journey through the frontiers of theater and performance.

  • ‘Loa al divino Narciso’. A celebration of classical theater featuring acribatics, live music, and scenic poetry.

  • ‘Historias del Sol naciente’. An oral storytelling performance inspired by ancient Japanese traditions.

These are just a few examples of a theatrical universe that unfolds in theaters, open spaces, and iconic locations throughout the city.

Bogotá as a living epicenter of the arts

FIAV is more than just a showcase of performances. It is a conversation between cultures, an opportunity for Colombian creators to engage in dialogue with artists from all over the world. This dimension transforms the city during those days into a living epicenter where borders dissolve, and art manifests in multiple forms.

Furthermore, unlike many festivals that are concentrated in a single space, FIAV fills Bogotá: from the Bogotá Planetarium, where works such as Acuagrafías by the Kussi Huayra Theater will take place, to squares and theaters that open their doors to welcome the public for performance after performance.

Tickets and access: your festival passport

Tickets for individual performances are available from February 4, 2026, through official websites such as fiavbogota.com and tuboleta.com. TThere are also season ticket options if you want to experience several consecutive days of the festival.

Here, the city doesn’t just present art: the city is the art.
