During the International Festival of the Performing Arts – FIAV Bogotá 2026, the Colombian capital will establish itself as the cultural epicenter of Latin America, bringing together monumental plays, urban interventions, and immersive experiences that engage with the city’s history and modernity. Peter and the Wolf: Who’s afraid?, The Four Seasons: Anatomy of a Bond, and Architecture of a Void – Soundpainting are three of the recommended plays for experiencing culture in Bogotá.
Two of these premieres are productions by the Secretariat of Culture, Recreation, and Sports, in collaboration with the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra and IDARTES. The third is a world premiere at FIAV Bogotá, the result of the LEP Grant for Major Productions in co-production with the Fundación Teatro Libre de Bogotá and Improvisual.

Actions speak louder than words
From March 27 to April 5, as part of the FIAV Bogotá, a series of productions designed for children, youth, and family audiences will take center stage in Bogotá. Among the most striking highlights of this edition are three large-format installations that transform public space into an open gallery and an open-air concert.
Peter and the Wolf: Who’s Afraid? reimagines the classic by Sergei Prokofiev in a stage experience that blends live music, narration, dance, puppetry, and visual arts, featuring the Bogotá Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and special narration by Juan Pablo Raba.
It is presented at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo on March 29 at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and March 30 at 5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, The Four Seasons: Anatomy of a Bond, brings together, for the first time in Colombia, the versions by Antonio Vivaldi, Astor Piazzolla, and Max Richter in a single performance—a dialogue between music, dance, and a large-scale visual presentation.
It will be presented at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo on March 27 at 8:00 p.m. and on March 28 at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Finally, Architecture of a Void – Soundpainting offers an interdisciplinary and unrepeatable experience that integrates music, dance, theater, and projection mapping. Guided in real-time by the soundpainting language, it features over 30 artists on stage.
It will be presented at the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater from March 27 to 29 at 3:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.
These productions are part of a program featuring over 100 national and international shows, reflecting the District’s commitment to the production, circulation, and access to the performing arts. Hosted in iconic venues like the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater and the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, these performances solidify Bogotá as a capital of major events and a showcase for local living arts talent.
Each piece invites us to rediscover the city from new perspectives, fusing technology, identity, and emotion.

And many more reasons
In addition to these major productions, the FIAV Bogotá 2026 district program features 100 plays from five continents and 18 different countries.
The Center of the World (El Centro del Mundo) is a multidisciplinary show that explores the nuances of mental health through the intersection of multiple stage languages and poetic imagery
On stage, a poetic exploration of the circus universe unfolds, where artists invite the audience to travel through a world of acrobatics, humor, skill, and emotions.
It will be presented at the El Ensueño Theater on March 31 and April 1 at 7:00 p.m.
Tom Tom the Piper´s Son is an experience that transforms into a narrative confronting the audience with realities marked by violence and displacement.
It will be presented at Teatro El Parque on March 27 and 28 at 6:00 p.m.
The festival also pays tribute to Bogotá’s cultural diversity through works that integrate ancestral knowledge and contemporary narratives. National and international artists reinterpret indigenous symbols, urban sounds, and collective memories in projects that connect the past and the future. Murals, performances, and sound experiences turn streets and squares into gathering spaces where art becomes a universal language.
