This year, the Festival for Equality—which aims to promote the visibility and inclusion of LGBTI social groups—will take place from June 13 to July 16, 2025. The festival will begin with the flamenco dance performance Muerta de Amor by Manuel Liñán & Compañía, a powerful production from Spain featuring 12 artists. The show explores a sensory dialogue between desire, fantasy, the carnal, the embrace, and religion and will be held at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santodomingo.
Next on the agenda is the 9th edition of La Noche y Las Luciérnagas, taking place at Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán.This event features a diverse lineup of drag and transformist art performances from Mexico, Cali, Barranquilla, and Bucaramanga.
As for the cultural offering, from June 18 to July 5, the public will be able to enjoy a new edition of the Pink Cycle at the Cinematheque of Bogotá, a film series that embraces sexual and gender diversity through the language of cinema. DLikewise, during the second week of July, the Distrito Diverso event will take place at Parque de los Hippies (Hippies Park) in Chapinero, featuring a variety of artistic performances as well as an entrepreneurship fair.
The festival will also feature different talks and discussions on memory building, including a dialogue and a workshop on victims of the armed conflict and LGBTI social sectors. The diversity flags will be raised in the different district and local institutions as part of the recognition and visibility of the struggles of LGBTI people and the district government's commitment to upholding their rights.
Meanwhile, Canal Capital will have diverse content programming, such as the launch of the series Surfer Rosa on Saturday, June 28. The series follows the protagonist, Rosario, on a journey through a universe where she can love without conditions.
🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Citizen Marches
As part of the festival, three marches—called and agreed upon by the community and supported by the district administration—will take place in accordance with the right to social protest:
🌟 Marcha del Sur:
June 22. From the Bosa Foundational Square, along Carrera 86 and Avenida 1ª de Mayo, ending at the Local Mayor's Office of Kennedy.
🌟 Marcha Distrital:
June 29. From the National Park along Carrera 7 to Bolívar Square.
🌟 Yo Marcho Trans:
July 5. From the 20 de Julio Fairgrounds to Parque Urbanización Granada Sur, in the San Cristóbal locality.
The Festival for Equality is a citizen initiative coordinated by the Mayor's Office of Bogotá through the Directorate of Sexual Diversity, Populations and Genders of the District Secretariat of Planning. It features a wide range of activities developed by various district entities and local mayor's offices.
