The 20th edition of the Bogotá International Art Fair (ARTBO) will take place from September 26 to 29. This program of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) has had a significant impact on the local and national art scene. This year, it is marking a milestone, celebrating its 20th anniversary with galleries from 10 guest countries.

"The celebration of ARTBO's 20th anniversary shows that the entity has been a trailblazer in promoting the Cultural and Creative Industries of Bogotá and the region. As a result, we have contributed to the strengthening of the visual arts and other cultural sectors, which currently contribute more than 3.3% of the GDP. Our challenge is to continue supporting the entire chain, from the smallest to the most consolidated companies, with close support to promote business growth," said Ovidio Claros, president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.

Since its inception in 2004, ARTBO has served as a benchmark for the strengthening of the creative and cultural industries. It provides spaces for artists to create and showcase their work while also solidifying the supply and demand stages in the visual arts value chain.

The Agora Convention Center will be the meeting point for galleries, collectors, and artists. One of the event's goals is to make contemporary art and its production more accessible in the country.

In this version, the public is invited to explore various exhibitions through tours in six circuits: Centro Histórico, Macarena, San Felipe, Chapinero Norte, Chapinero Central, and Teusaquillo. These tours will feature special activities and exhibitions. All activities will be free and open to the public, with extended hours during the three days.

In 2023, the ARTBO program developed initiatives that captured the attention of the general public at the local and international levels. It promoted the growth, development, and circulation of the local art scene, inviting the public to visit the 56 participating art spaces.

Seven exhibitions explored different themes, including a trilogy of exhibitions that questioned the ideas of the natural and the artificial. There was also an exhibition that addressed the experience of black people in Colombia, as well as two curations that showcased the process of the formation of ARTBO.
