From May 13 to 24, the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the most important cinematic event in the world, will take place. The renowned short film festival will bring Colombian audiovisual talent to the Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry—one of the most influential stages in the global film industry—where the BOGOSHORTS Universe will showcase two curated collections: BOGOSHORTS World Tour - Winners Colombia and BOGOSHORTS World Tour - Latin American Talents. This reaffirms the city's role as a hub of creativity and audiovisual production.

The inclusion of ten Colombian and Latin American short films at Cannes not only highlights the growth of national cinema but also underscores Bogotá’s appeal as a cultural and artistic destination. The capital offers a unique blend of tradition, street art, gastronomy, museums, and a vibrant festival agenda that positions the city as a leading destination for travelers seeking contemporary cultural experiences.

The international momentum of BOGOSHORTS also strengthens Bogotá’s tourism projection. This city connects historic landmarks like La Candelaria and Bolívar Square with modern spaces for creation, cinema, music, and entrepreneurship. The participation of Colombian producer Melisa Zapata Montoya in the New Producers Room demonstrates how the creative talent born in Bogotá and Colombia continues to gain recognition on the world’s biggest stages.

On Monday, May 19, the BOGOSHORTS Universe will host a social event at the Colombia Pavilion in Cannes, on the French Riviera. Supported by Proimágenes and featuring the Latin American filmmakers from the curated collections, the event aims to continue consolidating its internationalization and strategic alliances.

With initiatives like the BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market and its global partnerships, Bogotá continues to establish itself as a city open to art, innovation, and cultural exchange. Those who visit the capital find a diverse offering that combines international festivals, cultural tours, gastronomy, nightlife, and creative experiences, making the city a must-see destination for cultural tourism in Latin America.
