If you are a rock music lover, this information is for you. Throughout the month of November, Bogotá will host various concerts and shows for fans of this genre.
The rock season will begin on Friday, November 1, with a performance by the legendary Paul McCartney, a former member of the iconic British band The Beatles. He will surely sing several hits from the famous group, such as Let It Be and Hey Jude, as well as some of the songs with which he has triumphed as a solo artist. The concert will take place at El Campín Stadium.
Slipknot, the American alternative metal band founded in 1995, will perform their greatest hits, including People = Shit, Before I Forget, and Duality, at the Movistar Arena between November 5 and 6..
The Colombia Metal festival will bring together the most influential bands of this genre, such as Satyricon, At The Gates, Katatonia, Samael, Cradle Decapitation, Chelsea Grin, Crisisx, and Massacre, among others. They will offer a unique experience for metal fans of all styles. The event will take place on November 8 at the Gran Carpa Américas in Corferias.
The legendary Rock al Parque
From November 9 to 11, the XXVIII edition of one of the most iconic festivals of the city and Latin America will take place: Rock al Parque. International artists and groups such as Los Toreros Muertos, Testament, Fabiana Cantillo, and Inspector will perform at Simon Bolivar Park.
Colombia will be represented by two beloved and acclaimed bands: Kraken and Doctor Krápula. Additionally, Entreco from Cali will represent the new generation of alternative rock. Lilith, a female gothic metal band from Medellín, will also perform, along with the district winners of the Rock al Parque 2024 - Bogotá Ciudad Creativa de la Música (Bogotá Creative City of Music) Festival Scholarship.
According to Héctor Mora, curator of this edition of the festival, Rock al Parque 2024 showcases impressive interpretation and composition skills from renowned bands. These include Haggard from Germany, which blends symphonic death metal with classical music; Testament from the United States, returning to Bogotá with their signature thrash metal sound, known for fast riffs and raw lyrics; and The Selecter from England, pioneers of 1980s British ska.
As a reminder, admission to these festivals in the capital is free. Attendees can enjoy musical performances from artists representing countries such as the United States, Germany, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, and, of course, Colombia.
The rock line-up in Bogotá continues
On November 11, Linkin Park will perform for the first time in the city as part of their 'From Zero World Tour' at the MedPlus Coliseum. Fans can look forward to hearing hits such as In The End, Numb, What I've Done, and Burn It Down, among others.
The duo Boy Harsher, known for their innovative electronic music, will perform in Bogotá on November 13 at the Royal House. The very next day, on November 14, the iconic American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins will perform at the Movistar Arena.
Two days later, on November 16, at the Royal Center, the world-renowned electro rap-rave group Die Antwoord, formed in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2008, will bring their unique sound to Bogotá.
Rock concerts continue in the capital city. Keane, one of the most influential bands in Great Britain, will perform on November 23 at the Chamorro City Hall. The legendary band is returning to Colombia to perform one of the most significant albums of their career: Hopes and Fears. This album has set numerous records and is one of the best-selling albums in the history of the UK charts, achieving over 2.5 million sales in its first year.
If you enjoy heavy metal, you won't want to miss Iron Maiden, one of the bands that best represents this musical genre. Their concert is scheduled for November 24 at the El Campín stadium. The legendary British band has built its success on directly connecting with fans, releasing high-quality albums, and delivering outstanding live performances. They will be showcasing their show Future Past Tour.
Additionally, the Mexican rock, pop-rock, and indie rock band Enjambre will perform on November 28 at the Lourdes Music Hall.
The rock lineup continues on December 11 at the Coliseo Medplus with none other than the legendary Lenny Kravitz
