Three days are enough to give you a complete first impression of Bogotá: its history, its culture, its flavors, and that energy that can only be truly understood by walking through the city. This itinerary proposes a possible route, day by day.
It is not the only way to experience Bogotá in 72 hours. Still, it is a great way to start: it combines the historic center, the eastern hills, the gastronomic scene, and some of the neighborhoods that best represent the city's diversity.
Adjust the pace to your liking, leave room to get a little lost, and remember that the best route is always the one that adapts to you.
Day 1: Historic center and eastern hills
Start in La Candelaria: its cobblestone streets, colonial houses, and museums tell much of Colombia's history. Bolívar Square, the Gold Museum, and the Botero Museum are mandatory stops.
In the afternoon, head up to Monserrate to see the city from above. The sunset from up there is one of the most memorable postcards for anyone visiting Bogotá.
End the day with dinner at a downtown restaurant that blends traditional cuisine with contemporary proposals.
Day 2: Culture, art, and gastronomy
Dedicate the morning to exploring neighborhoods like La Macarena or San Felipe, where art, independent design, and gastronomy coexist within just a few blocks.
Take the opportunity to visit a traditional food market: Paloquemao or La Perseverancia are great options to get close to the flavors and ingredients that define Bogotá's cuisine.
At night, Zona G or Zona T offer a wide variety of restaurants to wrap up the day with something special.
Day 3: Neighborhoods, markets, and final shopping
The last day is ideal for experiencing Usaquén: its flea market, its cafés, and its village-like architecture right inside the city make it a perfect finale.
If time permits, a stroll through the Botanical Garden or Parque de la 93 can complete the experience before your return flight.
