Bogotá fires up the grills! Carnival del Asado in Puente Aranda promises three days of flavor and tradition
From October 16 to 18, Bogotá offers an irresistible invitation to food lovers: the fourth edition of the Carnival del Asado, a celebration that brings together gastronomy, culture, and tourism in the locality of Puente Aranda.

Flavors Inspired by the piquete bogotano
For three days, Zona A, located on Transversal 53, between Calle 2 and Calle 3, will host a culinary experience designed to attract new visitors, boost local commerce, and highlight the diverse flavors that contribute to the capital's gastronomic identity. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Seven restaurants will team up to offer a special menu for 32,000 Colombian pesos: a cone filled with pork, potatoes, and plantain, accompanied by a drink, inspired by the traditional piquete bogotano. Each restaurant will put its own twist on the dish, making it an opportunity to try different interpretations of the same dish. Participating spots include Varcino, Los Tronquitos, Los Torres, Alcaraván, Kabro Loco, Cuatro Vientos, and El Balcón de la Veleñita, inviting you to share with family and discover new flavors without leaving the city.

A Journey Through Culinary Traditions
The gastronomic tour will also be a journey through the Colombia's culinary traditions. Los Tronquitos, with over 50 years of history, will highlight llanera-style meat and open-fire wood-grilled preparations; Kabro Loco and El Balcón de la Veleñita will represent the flavors of Santander; Cuatro Vientos and Alcaraván will highlight the traditional cuisine of Boyacá and the Llanos; Los Torres will offer oven-roasted, smoked meats and pork belly (chicharrones), while Varcino will feature the traditional fritanga as its star. It is a blend of recipes, techniques, and culinary knowledge that reflects the richness of the regions that have helped shape Bogotá's gastronomy.
During the event, locals and visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of preparations while learning about the participating restaurants, their stories, and the traditions behind each flavor.
