From New York to Bogotá. The city presents an unprecedented exhibition from the American Museum of Natural History
Starting July 23, 2026, the Bogotá Planetarium will be the first venue in Colombia to host “Eyes on the Universe.” This international exhibition by the American Museum of Natural History in New York invites visitors to discover the immensity of the cosmos through images never before displayed in the country.
The exhibition brings together stunning photographs captured by the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes (the largest and most powerful ever sent into space), along with the Gaia mission, launched in 2013. It offers a visual journey that spans from our galactic neighborhood to the farthest reaches of the universe. Featuring free admission for two months at the Bogotá Planetarium, this experience will allow local, national, and international visitors to get closer to some of the greatest achievements in space exploration and spark their curiosity about astronomy.

Eyes On The Universe
The arrival of this exhibition marks the beginning of a partnership between the Planetarium and the American Museum of Natural History, one of the world’s most prestigious scientific institutions, strengthening the Colombian capital’s position as an international leader in scientific dissemination. In addition, the local production will feature the participation of the Colombian collective Mujeres que Imprimen (MQI), highlighting national talent in the creation of an exhibition with international standards.
Following its run at the Planetarium, “Eyes on the Universe” will continue its tour through educational institutions and the San Diego Tunnel, bringing the wonder of the universe to new audiences and venues across the city. This initiative reaffirms Bogotá’s commitment to access to knowledge, inviting everyone to enjoy an experience where science, education, and tourism come together to explore the secrets of the cosmos.
