The remembered house where the Pinzón family lived, Don Hermes, Doña Julia and, of course, Beatriz, the protagonist of the successful soap opera of the late 1990s, became an indispensable place to visit for tourists coming to Bogotá.
AlthoughI'm Betty, the ugly one.', the most successful soap opera in history, according to the prestigious Guinness record, issued its final chapter there in 2000, remains a massive phenomenon, not only because of the repetitions that are broadcast all over the planet, but because that house located in the traditional district Teusaquillo became a real tourist attraction.
Although visiting the house is possible only in half, as the only real part we see in the series is the facade, as the inner scenes were recorded in the RCN channel studies, it is certainly an iconic and impermissible place for fans visiting Bogotá. The house is a tourist point, where visitors, in a charming cult for the 'ugliest in America', find themselves, say allusive phrases and exchange memories and longings.
"The devil is a pig," "I made six months of finance in San Marino" and "Forgive me, but forgive me" are some phrases that are repeated in the house and that are part, even, of some souvenirs, evoking that television hit of 335 unforgettable chapters, issued during 1999 and 2000.
Although the house is not inhabited, it is in perfect condition of conservation and today the services offered are a museum, a photo station and a cafe. The entrance is free and, although not charged for knowing the facilities, it is suggested to consume some of the products offered, especially the black juice, that favorite drink of Betty and Nicolás Mora, the dear friend of the protagonist.
The two-story house allows you to see in the first one the recreation of the living room and the dining room; there is the cafe and a sale place with allusive memories. In the second, of course, the most important and what generates greater attraction in the visiting fanatics is the room of "Betty, the ugly one.". There, between ancient paintings and the replica of his bed, some dolls rest, and of course, there is his nightstand and his personal diary.
