The International Emerald Museum is a leading institution in Colombian geology, boasting a collection of emerald and beryl specimens dating back over 30 million years. It is renowned for exhibiting unique hydrothermal minerals, positioning Colombian emeralds as some of the rarest and most complex in the world.

The museum aims to have its green beryl collection recognized as among the finest globally, representing Colombia's main emerald deposits. Its exhibits encompass the most important mining districts, from Chivor, Gachalá, and Macanal in the eastern belt, to Muzo, Coscuez, and Peñas Blancas (Boyacá) in the western belt of the Eastern Cordillera.

With its focus on the nation's geological wealth, the International Emerald Museum not only highlights the natural beauty of these minerals but also the historical and cultural significance of exquisite Colombian emeralds worldwide.

📍 Instrucciones de llegada

By car, head towards downtown Bogotá. Take Carrera 7 or Avenida Jiménez, then turn onto Calle 16. The Avianca Building is near Carrera 6, with public parking available in the area.

By TransMilenio, get off at the Museo del Oro station, located on Avenida Jiménez. From there, walk east on Calle 16 for about 5 minutes to reach the Avianca Building.

By SITP, take routes that pass along Avenida Jiménez or Carrera 7. Get off at nearby stops such as Avenida Jiménez and Carrera 7 or Calle 19, from where you can walk a few blocks to the building.
