Bogotá, a city read in silence: a journey through FILBo 2026
In April and May, this story is written—and heard—among the pavilions, authors, and readers who arrive from all over the world to meet in one place: the Bogotá International Book Fair 2026.
From April 21 to May 4, the Colombian capital transforms once again into a grand literary stage where every aisle tells a different story. This year, with a theme that invites us to look inward “To listen is to read each other,” the fair offers more than just books: it offers conversations, shared silences, and new ways of understanding each other and experiencing the city.

A city narrating beyond the books
Anyone who has experienced FILBo knows that not everything happens at the stands. Outside, Bogotá also takes part. The coffee getting cold while you leaf through a book, the impromptu conversations in line, the accents from other countries blending with your own—it all adds up to an experience that goes far beyond reading.
This year, a special guest expands that conversation: India. Its presence brings more than just literature; it brings a deep cultural perspective, rich in tradition, spirituality, and diversity. It is an opportunity to cross worlds without ever leaving the city, to discover stories born on the other side of the planet that find their echo right here in Bogotá.

This year, the fair continues to grow, and so does the city that hosts it. For this edition, more than 600,000 visitors are expected, consolidating Bogotá as one of Latin America's leading cultural epicenters. New spaces, encounters with world-class authors, immersive experiences, and a program that reaches far beyond traditional literature make this one of the most ambitious editions yet

- Connect with Bogotá: take the opportunity to explore nearby neighborhoods, discover independent bookstores, or simply stroll through the city.

Bogotá, the protagonist of its own story
FILBo wouldn’t be the same without Bogotá. It is the city that provides the rhythm, the atmosphere, and the character. It is what makes every edition unforgettable. Here, literature doesn’t stay on the pages: it lives in the streets, in conversations, and in the way thousands of people come together to share something as simple—and as powerful—as reading.
