The country’s capital continues to establish itself as one of Latin America’s premier culinary destinations. The recent addition of Gastrofest Bogotá Región and Arepa Party to the Colombian Culinary Events Network highlights its role as a prime destination for unique food-related experiences.

These recognitions highlight Bogotá’s ability to connect tradition with innovation. While Gastrofest promotes the development of supply chains and culinary tourism in the city and the region; Arepa Party brings together chefs and diners around one of the most iconic dishes of Colombian cuisine with creativity and new culinary techniques.

Six new festivals and gastronomic events

The Colombian Culinary Events Network, driven by the Colombia a la Mesa strategy from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, aims to boost gastronomy as a key driver for economic development and regional tourism across the country through these new events: 

  • ¡Qué Delicia El Retiro! (El Retiro, Antioquia): A festival that promotes the local economy and the identity of this region through a rich journey of flavors and tradition.
  • Sabores del Valle de las Alegrías del Zipa (Tocancipá, Cundinamarca): A gathering of rural traditions, fairs, contests, and live cooking demonstrations in the Altiplano region.
  • Gastrofest (Bogotá D.C. y Región): An initiative by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce designed to develop local supply chains and strategic tourism.
  • Festival del Bollo de Mazorca (Arjona, Bolívar): Ancestral celebration organized by local midwives and farmers in the “World Capital of the Bollo de Mazorca."
  • Sabor a Corrales (Corrales, Boyacá): The 13th edition of this festival, bringing together Colombian music and the traditional cuisine of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense.
  • Arepa Party (Bogotá D.C.): A biweekly event at Lobo Negro in La Macarena, where guest chefs reinvent our traditional arepa using innovative techniques.
