The Museum of Modern Art, better known as MAMBO, is a dynamic and multicultural space that exhibits cultural heritage and diverse manifestations of modern and contemporary art through a collection of approximately 4,000 works

Located on the northern edge of the historic center, in a building designed by Rogelio Salmona, this museum is a window into the boldest and most exciting aspects of art. Its exhibitions break the mold, provoke reflection, and inspire visitors to see the world with fresh eyes. Its objective is to create meaningful experiences and foster learning processes that drive social transformation

Its history recounts that in November 1962, the renowned art historian and critic Marta Traba brought this initiative to fruition and assumed the museum's directorship. She recognized the need to create an institution that would promote the visual arts, and thus, the Museum of Modern Art began its activities in February 1963.

The museum presents innovative exhibitions and interactive educational programs that inspire visitors to think differently. Declared a Cultural Heritage Site of the District in 2001, at MAMBO art comes alive and awakens all the senses.
