El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá is Colombia's main air hub and one of the most important in Latin America. Opened in 1959, it has undergone significant expansions and renovations, including the construction of a new international terminal in 2012. 

    El Dorado is located within the Bogotá city limits, approximately 12 km west of the International Center. It covers an area of ​​approximately 6.9 km², encompassing land in the Fontibón and Engativá districts, as well as a small strip in the neighboring municipality of Funza, in the department of Cundinamarca.

    Currently, it is an air connection center with more than 30 airlines and direct flights to global destinations. It offers a wide range of passenger services and has been modernized with advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and the traveler experience. This infrastructure and high-quality services make it a fundamental element for air connectivity in Colombia and the region. 

    It won the Skytrax award for best staff in South America in 2016 and 2022, as well as first place in the list of the best airports in Latin America since 2022 consecutively.
