In the heart of the town of Tunjuelito, the Gabriel García Márquez Public Library opens its doors to an experience where literature, memory and territory are found to give life to "Macondo in Tunjuelito," a cultural and tourist tour that turns its spaces into a universe inspired by the work of 'Gabo', inviting visitors to immerse themselves in stories, landscapes and characters of the magic of the Colombian Caribbean in southern Bogotá.

Through a narrative setting, the attendees will be able to go through the history of the library as they discover connections between the imaginary Macondo, the cultural identity of Tunjuelito and the environmental wealth of the El Tunjo wetland. The initiative proposes an immersive experience, of 7 stations, that transforms reading into a sensory and tourist journey, where each corner awakens imagination and strengthens the link between the city, nature and word.

More than a guided tour, the tour is a narrative journey through the memory of Tunjuelito and the history of one of the city's most emblematic libraries. Through stories and sensory experiences, attendees discover the role of the Gabriel García Márquez Library - El Tunal within BibloRed since its opening in 2001, consolidating itself as a public space dedicated to citizen meeting, reading and cultural creation. The experience with Gabo in the Tunal

From the entrance, visitors are received with a staging that recreates characters, atmospheres and symbols of the work of the Colombian Nobel, turning the library hall into the entrance door to a territory where imagination, memories and books are constantly engaged.

The life and work of García Márquez accompany each station of the tour. His childhood in Aracatata, his journalistic vocation, the creation of A hundred years of loneliness and recognition with Nobel Prize in Literature appear as part of a living narrative that brings visitors closer to the legacy of one of Latin American's most important writers. In the Gabo Room, emblematic elements like the gold fish of Colonel Aureliano Buendía evoke conversations about time, memory, love and resistance to oblivion, essential themes in the author's work.

    The childhood of "Gabito"

The experience also devotes a special space to the children of "Gabito." In the Children's room, yellow butterflies, sounds and games recreate Aracatata's sensitive universe and the Caribbean oral tradition that fed the writer's imagination. There, children, young people and adults are invited to remember their own games and childhood memories, connecting their personal stories to the magical and human world that made the work of García Márquez immortal.

    A collective and sensory game

"Macondo in Tunjuelito" continues its journey with spaces that make literature a collective and sensory game. In the Multigame Roomvisitors of all ages participate in trivia, letters and interactive dynamics that allow you to discover details of the life and work of Gabriel García Márquez. Among questions about Aracatata, the magic realism and the author's most emblematic novels, learning becomes a playful experience where imagination occupies the center of the journey.

The transit to this station is inspired by the story 'A very old man with huge wings', one of the most remembered narrations of the Colombian writer. The atmosphere blends fantasy, wonder and daily reality, characteristic elements of Gabo's work that accompany the public throughout the experience.

Thus, each room becomes a bridge between literature and emotions, allowing visitors to live closely the narrative universe that made Macdo a universal symbol.

There, literature dialogue with technology and art through activities where the attendees create symbolic objects inspired by the work of García Márquez, such as fish made on paper and cardboard. This space seeks to demonstrate how stories can also be built from the hands, play and collective creativity.

In this last season, visitors write symbolic messages for the wetland, imagine animals converted into master characters and reflect on the importance of protecting urban ecosystems as living scenarios of memory and identity.
