Katabasis Exhibition
Santa Fe Gallery Categoría del eventoFrom July 1 to August 16, 2026, the Santa Fe Gallery presents Katabasis, an exhibition by Mauricio Carmona Rivera, winner of the 12th edition of the Luis Caballero Prize, the most prestigious contemporary art distinction in Colombia. The exhibition invites the public to explore an artistic investigation into the underground rivers of Bogotá and Medellín, revealing the memories, landscapes, and histories that remain hidden beneath fast urban growth. For over a month, national and international visitors can enjoy this project during the gallery's regular hours.
The exhibition brings together installations, research, documents, and diverse artistic languages to reflect on the relationship between water, territory, memory, and urban transformation. In addition to the main display, Katabasis features an extensive agenda of workshops, panel discussions, guided tours, and educational activities that enrich the visitor's engagement and create spaces where contemporary art and the community meet.
Katabasis consolidates the Santa Fe Gallery as one of the leading venues for contemporary art in Bogotá and strengthens the city's cultural offerings for residents and tourists. It is a highly recommended exhibition for those wishing to discover fresh perspectives on urban history, heritage, and the invisible landscapes that form part of the Colombian capital's memory.
