From July 1 to August 12, 2026, the Santa Fe Gallery will host the workshop “Water Maps and Micro-Stories of Memory,” a participatory artistic experience inspired by the exhibition Katabasis by artist Mauricio Carmona Rivera. Through four sessions scheduled for July 1, 15, and 29, and August 12, participants will explore the relationship between water, memory, and the city through creative writing exercises and collective embroidery. The activity offers free admission until capacity is reached, and invites everyone to construct new ways of remembering and narrating Bogotá through contemporary art.

During each session, attendees will transform personal memories linked to water into graphic symbols that will later be embroidered and accompanied by written micro-stories. The result will be a large collective textile piece conceived as a symbolic map of shared memories, along with a chest that will hold the stories created by the participants. The initiative promotes collaborative creation, intergenerational dialogue, and reflection on the city’s natural and cultural heritage.

This workshop is part of the academic and artistic programming of the Katabasis exhibition, strengthening Bogotá's cultural landscape with spaces for civic participation, art, and memory. It is an ideal activity for those seeking free creative workshops that allow them to discover new ways of connecting with the city and its invisible landscapes.
