The museum houses photographs, documents, musical instruments, and Escalona's personal belongings, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the history of his music and his legacy.
In the house, visitors can enjoy the intimacy of his home, where he settled in 1978. The museum is a place where the joy of learning and experiencing stories told with accordions, guitars, guacharaca, and caja drums is celebrated. It is also common to hear sung and spoken anecdotes that reveal the composer's character, amidst tastings of coffee, traditional dishes, and liqueurs.
Visits are by reservation only.
You can reach the Escalona House Museum, located in Usaquén, by car, taxi, public transportation, or bicycle.
On the TransMilenio, take Line 4, heading north. From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to your destination. You can also get off at the Niza Norte or Toberín stations and take a bus or taxi from there.
If you choose the SITP (Integrated Public Transport System), you can take Route 1 (north-south or south-north). Route Z10 (Usaquén - Candelaria) works perfectly. Other SITP routes have stops near Usaquén. Make sure to take a route that passes near Carrera 6a or drops you off at a nearby stop, such as Usaquén or Niza Norte.
