Located in the area that was once part of the domain of Chief Techotivá, and which began to be settled in 1608, the Techo Metropolitan Stadium, whose original name is "Estadio Rodrigo Lara Bonilla," is the second most important sports venue in Bogotá, after El Campín Stadium.

Situated near Mundo Aventura Park, in the Techo area of the Kennedy district, in southwest Bogotá, this important venue, which began as a racetrack near the site of the former Techo Airport, is now a small football stadium with a capacity of 7,000 people. Built in 1995 on the grounds of the historic Techo racetrack, it is the home stadium for the teams La Equidad, Fortaleza, Tigres, and Bogotá F.C.

Its natural grass pitch is used exclusively for professional or institutional matches. The heritage stands are the original ones from the old Techo racetrack, which operated from May 16, 1954, to June 23, 1982.

Techo Stadium holds the record for the most official matches played in a single year worldwide. In the 2015 season, it hosted 93 games, serving as the home ground for eight professional teams (La Equidad, Bogotá F.C., Expreso Rojo, Fortaleza CEIF, Patriotas Boyacá, América de Cali, Deportes Tolima, and Boyacá Chicó), across both the Categoría Primera A and Categoría Primera B divisions, as well as the 2015 Copa Colombia and international tournaments like the Copa Sudamericana.
