Every Sunday, thousands of devotees flock to the Sanctuary of the Divine Child Jesus in the 20 de Julio neighborhood, in southern Bogotá. The devotion originated in the 1930s, thanks to the Salesian priest Juan del Rizzo. He commissioned the restoration of the Divine Child of Prague, removing the cross and replacing its face with one inspired by the artisan's son. The result was a Divine Child unlike any other in the world, which generated widespread devotion.

The patron saint's feast day is celebrated on the first Sunday of September, while July 20th commemorates the neighborhood's name day. Year after year, people began attributing miracles to the image, which is displayed on the church altar. For this reason, the veneration of the Child became a matter of national interest. The number of faithful steadily increased, leading to the construction of a parish-sanctuary in 1937, which was completed in 1942 and has been under the care of the Salesians ever since. The church has an altar and four chapels, and a prayer room where the image rests, protected by a glass case.

The Salesians publish a popular almanac, which extols Salesian saints and blesseds and recounts some of the miracles attributed to the image. They also created a novena to ask for favors and miracles from the image, which has allowed the devotion to transcend borders, reaching various countries and becoming one of the most famous Colombian devotions in the world.
