More than 1,200 years ago, the first settlements of the Muisca civilization and some Chibcha migrations were recorded in what is now Bogotá. However, some remnants of that history remain, which Bogotanos can use as tourist attractions

Visit a park with a unique viewpoint in Bogotá. Opened in 2001, this 6.2-hectare park rises above what was once a Muisca quarry and cemetery. Therefore, it offers a window into Colombia's past.

On clear days, enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of Ruiz, Tolima, and Santa Isabel. The park, named for its strategic location, invites you to explore its key points, such as the Clock Plaza and the obelisks, Sua Plaza, La Toma Ravine, the obelisks, Moxa Plaza, Mirador Plaza, Equinox Plaza, Bochica Plaza, and Astral or Bachué Plaza.

Guided tours, which must be booked in advance for groups, will immerse you in this rich cultural heritage. The park also boasts a variety of flora and fauna, including birds such as owls and hummingbirds, and trees such as wax palms, arbolocos, siete cueros, chilcos, arrayanes, sangregados, oaks, alders, and hayuelos. You can use the installed telescopes to admire the view.

The Mirador de los Nevados Park is the ideal place to take a peaceful and enriching walk amidst history and nature.
