Orígenes Festival 2026: Bogotá Connects with Sounds That Transcend Time

From August 26 to 29, Bogotá will become a vibrant stage where Indigenous communities celebrate ancestral music, traditional knowledge, and artistic expression during the second edition of the Orígenes Festival: Ancestral Sounds and Knowledge.

Orígenes Festival 2026: Bogotá Connects with Sounds That Transcend Time

From August 26 to 29, artists from Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Bolivia will perform at venues such as the Bogotá Planetarium, the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater, Mobile Stages, and La Media Torta to explore the region through sound.

With the Music of Our Ancestors

With free admission, the festival features a diverse lineup that includes traditional music, rock, rap, and electronic beats. This proves that ancestral sounds remain vibrant and are evolving in dynamic new ways today. International acts, including Djuena Tikuna (Brazil), Sara Curruchich (Guatemala), Humazapas (Ecuador), and Alwa (Bolivia), will join Colombian ensembles such as La Tulpa Raymi and Ukamau, creating a sonic bridge across the Amazon, the Andes, and Latin America. 

The event also offers a cultural journey through Bogotá.The program will begin on August 26 at the Planetarium, move to the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater on August 27, take over Lourdes Square with mobile stages on August 28, and conclude on August 29 at La Media Torta with Colombian Indigenous music, Mexico's Comcáac people, and Kichwa electronic explorations from Ecuador..

Talks and Exhibitions

Beyond the concerts, the festival features the Academic and Cultural Week (August 24–28), offering panel discussions, audiovisual exhibits, oral storytelling, spiritual harmonization practices, and spaces dedicated to the transmission of ancestral knowledge. Organized collectively by local Indigenous communities, the program invites visitors and neighbors to connect with native communities. 

As part of the schedule, there will also be spaces dedicated to showcasing initiatives by Yanakuna, Kamëntsá, Ikʉ, Ēberā Pusabida, Suba Muysca, Kichwa, and Pastos peoples. Attendees will find handcrafted goods, natural products, and traditional wisdom that enrich the festival experience. 

The Orígenes Festival 2026 is an invitation to come and discover Latin America in Bogotá. It’s an experience where you can listen, learn, converse, and discover how ancestral roots continue to evolve and find new voices in the city.
